What we do...Creek Connections is a cross-curricular study for seventh-graders at CLMS.
* Students conduct hands-on research, data collection and analysis. |
Wendy Kedzierski, director of Creek Connections at Allegheny College joins us at our sampling site above!
* The French Creek Watershed is a backdrop for studies in geography, English, math and science.
* Students complete a culminating project & compete to present it at the Creek Connections Symposium in the Spring. |
Recent News
There are 3 cross-curricular trips this year. The first is to the University of Pittsburgh's Pymatuning Laboratory of Ecology on Sept. 26, 2019. There, we explore aquatic microscopy, lake biology, water chemistry and Pennsylvania wildlife.

Our second and third cross-curricular trips are 10/23/19 and 5/13/20 to Pine Run at Gibson Park in Harmonsburg. (Thanks so much to Summit Township for allowing us to work there again this year!) On these trips, we'll explore aquatic macro-invertebrates, physical parameters of a stream, geocaching, nature writing and topographic mapping.
Parents are invited to attend any trip! Please be sure to have your clearances on file in the office ahead of time. (Call the office or check Conneaut School District website for more information.) |
